Release of Karmic Connections in the Built Environment
This case describes atmospheric fieldwork carried out in a basement and an associated flat. The process explored how deeper and historically interpreted field structures could be worked with to create a clearer and more coherent experience of the building.
An Unusually Intense Working Day
On the day of the intervention, strong geomagnetic activity was registered.
At the same time, I experienced the work as unusually intense. The dark basement, the November light and my personal connection to the registered themes created a powerful atmospheric framework around the process.
Within Blissbode’s interpretative framework, the basement was assessed as carrying several historical and karmic imprints. The term karmic connections is used here to describe experienced or intuitively registered connections between people, places and previous events. It is not presented as a scientifically documented explanation.
When a Building Feels Bound to Its History
Some people experience a particular connection with the home or land on which they live.
The connection may feel meaningful and supportive, but also heavy, restrictive or difficult to understand.
In this project, field structures were registered within three interconnected environments:
- the building’s immediate surroundings
- the selected flat
- the basement and the subterranean field
The basement was regarded as a central point of attention because it was physically and atmospherically connected with the rest of the building.
Although exploring one’s present-day connections with previous emotions and thoughts can be interesting, the real benefit lies in adding the released energy to one’s own.
Intervention: Working with Deeper Field Layers
The work in the basement served as preparation for a more focused intervention within the flat.
The registered structures were worked with and recalibrated with the aim of:
- loosening experienced karmic connections
- releasing entrenched atmospheric patterns
- creating greater coherence between the building’s levels
- establishing a clearer atmospheric baseline
- supporting the experience of calm, focus and movement
Additional structures within the flat were subsequently harmonised and calibrated as part of the overall process.
Observed Development
Following the intervention, the affected environments were experienced as lighter, clearer and more coherent.
Those involved associated the process with:
- greater atmospheric stability
- less perceived heaviness
- clearer spatial and mental orientation
- an easier experience of communication and movement
- greater distance from previously entrenched patterns
The observations document the specific process. They do not establish that the fieldwork alone caused changes in the residents or within the residential community.
Karmic Layers as an Atmospheric Design Parameter
Within Blissbode’s practice, karmic connections are not treated as religious truths, but as a possible interpretative framework for complex and historically experienced relationships between people and places.
Such structures can be explored through:
- atmospheric observations
- resonance registrations
- the history of the place
- the users’ experiences
- the spatial organisation
- changes before and after the intervention
The approach opens up a broader perspective on architecture. The building is understood not only as a physical structure, but also as a framework that may be experienced as carrying history, relationships and human meaning.
When a place no longer needs to hold on to its history, more space can emerge for the life unfolding now.
Could Your Home Be Shaped by Earlier Layers?
Some environments are experienced as heavy or entrenched without the reason being immediately explained through interior design, function or building technology.
A Resonance Report can offer an initial insight into the registered atmospheric conditions and reveal possible points of attention in the relationship between people, history and place.
