This case describes an individual process in which a resident experienced sleep problems, a sense of insecurity and unexplained events within the home. Blissbode examined the home through an atmospheric and practice-based interpretative framework.

Background: A Home Characterised by Insecurity

Within an area of approximately 40 m², the resident described:

  • insomnia
  • cold and draughts
  • a sense of insecurity
  • sleep paralysis
  • a perceived pressure against the body during rest
  • sensations of a presence
  • rhythmic knocking sounds in walls and doors

The resident described the living room as:

“A dance floor for spirits.”

The sleep problems had become so burdensome that the resident had sought medical assistance and was using prescribed medication to sleep.

Atmospheric Analysis

Blissbode’s internal resonance analysis registered a complex composition of immaterial field structures.

Within Blissbode’s practice framework, some of the structures were interpreted as spiritual presences, entrenched consciousness imprints and historical emotional traces.

These terms describe Blissbode’s interpretative model. They should not be understood as scientifically documented explanations for the resident’s experiences.

The age and previous use of the building were also included in the assessment of the place’s atmospheric history.

Intervention: Regulating the Home’s Field Structure

The atmospheric work included:

  • identifying registered resonances
  • working with the fields experienced as burdensome
  • harmonising historical and emotional imprints
  • stabilising the atmospheric structure of the rooms
  • establishing a consciousness point oriented towards presence and grounding

The purpose was to create a home that could be experienced as calmer, more coherent and safer.

Presence is characterised by a fulfilled life in which one feels at ease with oneself as well as with others.

Observed Development

Following the intervention, the resident described a greater sense of calm and presence within the home.

At the same time, the facilitator observed:

  • more sustained eye contact
  • a calmer physical presence
  • greater reflection on the future
  • clearer expression of wishes and decisions

The observations are snapshots from an individual process. They do not document that the fieldwork alone caused the development.

From Unexplained Experiences to Greater Agency

The central purpose of this case is not to prove what the experienced phenomena were.

What matters is that the resident experienced the home as burdensome and that, following the process, the atmosphere was described as more stable and inhabitable.

When people feel unsafe in their own homes, this can affect their ability to rest, concentrate and manage everyday life. Such experiences should therefore be met respectfully and explored from several perspectives, including building-related, environmental, medical and atmospheric perspectives.

A home should not persuade us of a particular explanation. It should be capable of being experienced as a safe place to be.
